PATHWAYS TO RURAL WORK
Our events are not just a great day in the outdoors...we offer rural career experiences for young adults who are entering the world of work.
Our aim is to provide guidance and information on rural qualifications, training and careers in the outdoors, which in turn; encourages rural employment in Scotland. We achieve this by encouraging land owners, rural businesses and industry professionals across the country to open their doors and provide high quality learning opportunities for Scotland’s young people as well as offering the CLS Rural Volunteer Award (RVA) to help volunteers get involved. We facilitate events that deliver real, hands on learning sessions in areas such as Horticulture, Forestry, Wildlife Management and Agriculture and aim to add information on recreation adventure training and careers to the programme shortly
We are also working in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) leaders to improve work placements and work experience days following on from these events.
